OPWDD Self-Direction is a program that lets individuals with developmental disabilities choose and manage their own services and support workers, rather than relying on traditional agency-run services. A Support Broker and Fiscal Intermediary help make that possible.

No. Support Brokerage is an OPWDD-funded service. Our fees are billed directly through your Self-Direction budget — there is no out-of-pocket cost to individuals or families.

Individuals who are OPWDD-eligible and have an active waiver — such as the Consolidated Supports and Services (CSS) waiver — may qualify. We can help you figure out eligibility during a free initial conversation.

A Support Broker helps you plan services, develop your budget, hire staff, and navigate OPWDD requirements. A Fiscal Intermediary (FI) handles the financial side — payroll, taxes, and billing. Both are required for Self-Direction.

Yes. You have the right to change your Support Broker at any time. The transition is straightforward and we'll guide you through every step. Just reach out and we'll explain what's involved.
